Serves 4

What you need:

This recipe is great with Sausage Patties, Veal or Chicken Sausage Patties or Chicken Patties or Sausage links and even Hamburger Patties.

  • 6 Patties
  • 2 Red Peppers
  • 2 Green Peppers (Sclafani Roasted or Fried Peppers can be substituted)
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Italian Parsley
  • 2-3 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Fresh Mozzarella sliced into 6 thick slices
  • 6 Italian rolls (sliced and toasted on the grill, rub with garlic clove after the rolls are toasted)

What to do:

  1. Preheat your grill.
  2. Char the peppers. Peel off the charred skin and slice into strips.
  3. In a bowl combine peppers, garlic, parsley, salt and olive oil toss well and set aside.
  4. Cook your patties or sausage links that you have split the casing down the middle to your desired doneness.
  5. Top with Mozzarella cheese let melt.
  6. Serve on toasted roll with peppers. Enjoy this treat anytime, but especially in grilling season!
