Danny, the 3rd generation of D’Aprile’s, is excited and proud that D&D Market is celebrating 78 years in business and 49 years at the Franklin Avenue location. To commemorate this milestone, Danny is conducting Educational Series and Classes to learn the Italian Culture, Food and Traditions in honor of his grandfather, Vito. D&D Market's Founder. Italian Specialty - Winter 2012
The Class will be an overview of the basics of Italian Specialty with a sampling as we tour the various areas. Each class will be for approximately 1 hour of informal learning with questions and answers as we go. Shopping will be available at the conclusion of each class. $125.00 for 4 classes

This is also a great Christmas Gift for someone special in your life, and you can order it on-line, from our E-Store. If inclement weather arises, we will cancel class and reschedule. Class #1: Tues., Jan. 24th: Introduction to the Italian Deli We will discuss Prosciutto, Sopressata, some Italian cheeses, Mozzarella and some Olives. Concluding with making an antipasto for easy entertaining and sampling as we go. Class #2: Tues., Jan. 31st: Introduction to Italian Style Meats We will be making Meatballs, Veal Cutlets and Brasciole the way Nonna made them and cooked them so that you can do it at home. We learn how to make a good Italian Meatball, a tender breaded Veal Cutlet and a Brasciole that will melt in your mouth. We will sample along the way. Class #3: Tues., Feb. 7th: Introduction to Italian Dry Pasta & Sauces Not all pasta was created equal. Learn to be able to tell the difference and differentiate the different sauces that go with the pasta. For example: Vodka Sauce, Marinara Sauce, Putanesca and Oil and Garlic. Tasting as we learn. Class #4: Mon., Feb. 13th: Introduction to True Olive Oil & Balsamics Learn the importance of Olive Oil, the differences and the health benefits. Learn why some oils are labeled olive oil and are not. Let's learn about the quality of Balsamic Vinegars, the aging process and how to use them. Tasting is the only way to learn. Space is limited and cost will go up after Jan 1st, so book early.
Reservation Forms and Checks should be received no later that January 1st, 2012. Cost $125.00 for 4 classes. Each Class begins at 7:00 p.m. for 1 hour. Last Years Series was SOLD OUT!
